Slawekさんのお勧めは芥川龍之介の短編です。
とくに印象に残った作品を教えてください（タイトルクリックすると青空文庫で読むことができます）。
「羅生門」倫理規準の選択問題だね。
「戯作三昧」これも大好きな作品のひとつ。とくに最後で創造する苦しみと日常の小さな幸福と間にある緊張感が見事に浮かび上がってくるところ。
「尾生の信」と「秋山図」面白いけれど、作品の雰囲気がちょっと理解できなかったかも。
「藪の中」舞台のよう！
「或る阿呆の一生」詩のような日記。いちばん印象に残った作品。
芥川龍之介の作品について、お勧めのところは：
無駄のない文章のなかに格言・教訓のようなものがあるところ。個人的には村上春樹より絶対ハイレベル！

芥川いいですね！久々に読んでみたくなりました。そう、特に短編、要素がぎゅっと詰まっていて、一言たりとも無駄がない。なのに窮屈じゃない。今、読んでもいきいきしていて、秀逸さが際立っていますね。現代の作家で比肩する人がそういるとは思われません。再読のきっかけをありがとうございます。

Hi, Cyun-kichi, I am glad that I could gived you a motivation to read again Akatugawa’s works. I think that his poetic style causes that you can read it again and agian and always you can find something other interesting thing(k) – it is a bit something like Umberto Eco’s concept of ‘open text’ (Opera aperta).
Some time ago I have finished read The Temple of the Golden Pavilion Yukio Mishima and I must admit that it is another Japan author that gave me a lot of satisfaction. I have marked plenty of quotes form this novel. Sometimes the paths which his way of thinking follows can lead to intriguing realms. for example ‘When people concentrate on the idea of beauty, they are, without realizing it, confronted with the darkest thoughts that exist in this world. That, I suppose, is how human beings are made.’ – interesting, don’t you think? :) I wanted to add that both authors were recommended to me by Scot. Thanks.
